Covid-19: DGS presents Fall/Winter plan next week

Costa sought to focus his message on the “fundamental” issue of the individual responsibility of each one in combating the spread of the new coronavirus

The prime minister revealed today that the General Directorate of Health (DGS) will present next week a plan of measures against Covid-19 for the autumn/winter period and urged compliance with prevention rules already in force.

António Costa was speaking at a press conference in São Bento, at the end of a two-hour meeting of the crisis office to monitor the evolution of Covid-19 in Portugal.

“Next week, DGS will present the specific plan for the autumn/winter period. As we know, faced with a new virus, the scientific community has been evolving in terms of its knowledge and, consequently, in terms of the appropriate measures to contain it”, he said.

Before the journalists, however, António Costa tried to focus his message on the “fundamental” issue of the individual responsibility of each one in combating the spread of the new coronavirus.

“Before thinking about what new measures we can adopt, we must focus on the measures we already know we have to comply with”, he argued, before urging citizens to comply with “five” basic rules of prevention and safety against Covid. 19.
