The lifeguards of Portimão received 45 manual insufflators and XNUMX full masks from the City Council, to increase their protection in times of pandemic and “improve their capacity to intervene in the case of assistance to bathers in the water”.

«These new equipment complies with the technical guidelines of the Institute of Aid to Shipwrecks for the performance of lifeguards within the scope of Covid-19. The insufflators are equipped with HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance) filters, which allow for greater filtration capacity, and have been distributed to each of the 45 beach stations on the beaches of Portimão», described the Municipality of Portimão.

As for the full-face masks, "they were distributed individually by each of the lifeguards on duty in the current bathing season, in order to avoid direct contact with casualties."
