Silves won't have his Medieval Fair in 2020, due to Covid-19, but the Historic Center of the city is dressed, during the month of August, with the colors and props of other times. There will also be no shortage of flavors, as there is a Medieval Gastronomic Week taking place, and there will also be street and “home” entertainment between 7th and 16th August.
The Municipality of Silves added that "those who visit Silves, during this month, will find a city decked out and will be able to walk along streets decorated with the ornaments usually used during the event."
In front of the Town Hall there will be an Arab courtyard “composed of two imposing arcades and a water fountain, a scenario that will certainly serve to obtain some of the best photographic records by those who visit us”, believes the municipality.
Next to the turret of the city, the usual mosque will be installed, which will be another «of the attractions of this initiative, which also includes the installation of line sound in some of the main streets of the historic center and which will give new life and a new atmosphere these days».
At the same time, a cultural program was prepared that includes online activities and street entertainment in the commercial center.
This program will take place between the 7th and the 16th of August, when this year's edition of the Medieval Fair of Silves would take place.
On these days, the city will also host the Medieval Gastronomic Week, in which two dozen establishments and restaurants present «tempting medieval delicacies that will certainly delight the palate of all who pass through here», guarantees the municipality of Silva.
