Aljezur: GNR passes 122 fines in an operation to combat wild camping

Most fines are related to wild camping and caravanning and illegal parking

The GNR passed 122 fines during an action to combat illegal camping that it carried out today, the 21st, in the municipality of Aljezur, «with special focus on the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina».

In the operation, carried out by the Territorial Detachment of Portimão, “97 records were prepared for administrative offenses resulting from wild camping, as well as motorhomes and illegal parking in unauthorized places, and 25 for non-compliance with traffic signaling regulations”.

"The action was carried out with the reinforcement of the Coastal Control Detachment (DCC) of Sines and in collaboration with the Regional Directorate for Nature and Forest Conservation of the Algarve, with the aim of mitigating activities of wild camping illegal caravanism", according to GNR

This security force also stressed that the practice of camping and wild caravanning «is an identified problem that constitutes a factor in the destruction of habitats, some of which are protected, in addition to representing an illegal occupation which results in a degradation of the sites used by uncontrolled deposition of waste that spreads through unduly occupied places'.
