If you go to a beach in Albufeira, until the 20th of August, you may be entitled to a "toast" from the sky. Unannounced, synchronized aerial acrobatics will perform in the sky, to the sound of some of the best Portuguese bands.
José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, explained to Sul Informação that the initiative “Albufeira Esta é a Praia” is a “gift that we give to people just for being on that beach. There will be no pre-announcements, to avoid crowding, respecting the indications of the General Directorate of Health».
The mayor promises "special artistic moments", stressing that they have "the sole purpose of paying homage and leaving a message of confidence to vacationers".
The initiative is also «a way to draw attention to the “good shape” of the municipality's beaches», in a month that shows some signs of recovery in tourism.
“This month there is a recovery in hotels and restaurants. I would say that there is a reasonable activity, it is not good, but it is reasonable», the mayor says to the Sul Informação.
The shows take place on seven different beaches, without warning and without an appointment, and «they merge with the universe of the beach and summer, and above all with people's emotions and memories», highlights Tavolanostra Eventos Globales, who was invited by the Council of Albufeira to put the initiative into practice.
According to the company, there will be «a stunning aerial ballet starring the pilots Tim Dews and Tom Dews, which will take everyone, for a moment, to the place where we can never stop wanting to be, the dream place! Irreverence and overcoming will be watchwords».
After the air show, «the planes leave, as well as the entire production structure, in an autonomous and removable way, so that in an instant, life on the beach continues, the baths, the ice creams and leaving unforgettable memories for those who were on the beach in that time".
João Garrido da Costa, Tavolanostra's general director says that «it's fantastic, in these times of reinvention, we can continue to surprise and thrill the public… That's why an unprecedented artistic concept was created, with a “lightning” format and perfectly aligned with the pandemic situation we are experiencing».
