Lithuanian surfer saves at Praia do Amado after suffering an episode of epilepsy

The woman "was taken to the hospital, using an INEM emergency air vehicle"

A 37-year-old Lithuanian surfer, who suffered an episode of epilepsy and was floating at sea, was rescued this Thursday, July 30, at Praia do Amado (Aljezur).

The lifeguards of this beach gave the alert, around 10:30 am, "to the existence of a body floating in the sea, having then taken the victim out of the water and started resuscitation maneuvers", says the National Maritime Authority (AMN).

More help was immediately called to the scene, namely medical emergency resources and elements of the “SeaWatch” project.

After resuscitation and stabilization, the woman "was taken to the hospital, using an INEM emergency air vehicle."

In addition to the elements of the “SeaWatch” project, INEM, the Aljezur Volunteer Firefighters and the Maritime Police were also present.
