The renovation work at Portinho da Arrifana, in the municipality of Aljezur, has already been completed.
This contract, which is the responsibility of Sociedade Polis, represented an investment of around 580 thousand euros, which the municipality contributed with around 154 thousand euros. The remainder was financed by the Mar 2020 program.
The work involved the «portinho's veranda ramp, which was in terrible condition for the fishermen to be able to develop their work».
«The pier was reinforced with the displacement and placement of more large stones» and there was also «consolidation in the pier's own wall, thus creating conditions of more safety and protection for the vessels».
“A large area was also paved and waterproofed, in the area where boats for repair and other equipment are placed”, he adds.
“The access stairs with respective protection handrails were also repaired” and “the cleaning and maintenance of the back of the Porto basin was completed”.
The local authority emphasizes the importance of this work for fishermen, «congratulating the Association of Fishermen of Arrifana and Costa Vicentina for their commitment and ever-present support».
