Câmara de Silves and Casa do Povo de Messines show how “We are really inclusive”

Initiative takes place within the scope of Local Social Development Contracts

The Municipality of Silves and the Casa do Povo of São Bartolomeu de Messines created a partnership to develop the project “We Are Even Inclusive!”.

The objective of this initiative, carried out within the scope of Local Social Development Contracts under the measure inherent in axis 2 - Family and Parental Intervention, preventive against Child Poverty, involves the development of work with children, young people and the most vulnerable families in the municipality of Silves, supporting them in different social areas.

The support is reflected in social support in all parishes, summer camps during school breaks for children with fewer opportunities, psycho-pedagogical support, in partnership with the two groups of schools in the county, cultural/sports activities and promotion of parenting skills.

This work «extends to different age groups, always with the objective of contributing to the well-being of the child/youth, through information actions inside and outside schools, support aimed at special needs and, above all, networking with partners who are already on the ground», says the Câmara de Silves.
