IPSS Goes Through Financial Problems

The Municipality of Aljezur will support, in around 12 thousand euros, the purchase of furniture for the Continued Care Unit of this village in Costa Vicentina.

The Unit, which belongs to the Casa da Criança do Rogil, has recently been approved to increase five more beds/places, in order to find «new ways to finance» this aspect, which «facing some financial problems», as revealed by the municipality. of Aljezur.

These beds will allow the unit to «reduce the monthly deficit that it presents, this being a measure that has already been demanded and demanded, which, after months of negotiation, is now coming to fruition».

The solution was found after meetings between the Municipality of Aljezur, the Casa da Criança do Rogil, the direction of the District Center of Faro Social Security and the Regional Health Administration.

However, stresses the City Council, “the need to find more solutions to improve the situation of the unit remains on the table”. Hence, the municipality has decided to support the purchase of furniture, which “may respond to the increase from 30 to 35 users”, thus guaranteeing “more capacity and more profitability”.

The Casa da Criança do Rogil is an IPSS, which has a child support component, as well as this Unit, and currently employs around 60 people. The Municipality of Aljezur maintains a series of agreements with the IPSS, in various aspects.
