UAlg “for sale” at an online fair from tomorrow [with video]

Dean Paulo Águas spoke about the initiative in an interview with Sul Informação and to RUA FM

The University of Algarve (UAlg) will “sell itself” for two weeks, at UAlg 2020 Virtual Fair, which takes place in two periods: from the 15th to the 19th of June and from the 22nd to the 26th of June. This year, due to the pandemic, the summer courses also take on a new format, as explained Paulo Águas, dean of the Algarve academy, in an interview with the Impressões program, made in partnership by RUA FM and by Sul Informação.

The Virtual Fair, which starts tomorrow, aims to publicize the Professional Superior Technicians (TeSP), Licentiate, Integrated Masters, Postgraduate and Masters courses for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Events to publicize the academic offer, such as Futurália, were not held due to the Covid-19 pandemic and this was one of the alternatives found by the University of Algarve to reach potential students.

«For two weeks, those interested will be able to visit an interactive pavilion, where stands from all schools and faculties will be available with materials to publicize the training offer for consultation and download. Each stand will also have a live chat in which participants can ask questions and clarify doubts», explains UAlg.

The fair will also have sessions for the presentation of all courses offered for the 2020/21 academic year, transmitted via videoconference, with the presence of professors from the direction of the courses, who will be available to dialogue and clarify doubts.

The week from 15th to 19th of June will be dedicated to TeSP courses, Licentiate Degrees and Integrated Masters, while the week from 22nd to 26th of June will be dedicated to Post-Graduations and Masters.

The UAlg Virtual Fair «also has a special focus on international students, in particular on Brazilian students who can apply for a degree, making use of their National High School Exam (Enem) score and on candidates speaking or fluent in English. who can apply for one of the 18 master's programs taught in English'.

The UAlg Virtual Fair program can be consulted here. To participate, registration is mandatory, but free.

This initiative is supported by the KCITAR Algarve project, financed through the European Social Fund, Priority Axis 8 – Modernizing and Empowering Administration, of the Algarve Regional Operational Programme.
