A man suspected of domestic violence was detained on Thursday morning by the Maritime Police of Olhão in one of the housing centers on the Ria Formosa barrier islands.
The alleged aggressor, aged 60, resided on that island, "where he is suspected of having committed the facts against members of the household, through threats to physical integrity and damage to property," according to the National Maritime Authority.
The man was present in court yesterday, having been given a term of identity and residence and a ban on contact with the victim.
