Pinheiro e Rosa publishes training offer on a website made by students

The aim is to publicize the training offer in an «easy and accessible way»

The educational offer of the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School, from Faro, for the year 2020/2021 is already available on a website that was made by a student of the professional course in Management and Programming of Information Systems.

The aim is to publicize the training offer in an «easy and accessible way».

This Group of Schools says that it has always been «seeking to diversify the training offer in Secondary Education, both in terms of Scientific-Humanistic Courses (adding the Visual Arts course to Science and Technology, Languages and Humanities, and Social Sciences courses -Economic), or in terms of professional courses (increasing to an offer of 8 courses in the area of Health, Sports, IT, Tourism and Safety of People and Goods)».

In the same sense, "it was one of the first groups to implement the possibility for students of Scientific-Humanistic Courses (CCH) to opt for a biennial subject (10th and 11th year) from another course".

In 2019-2020, the Secondary Pinheiro e Rosa introduced in the school curriculum the subject of Theater (a subject option for 12th grade students) and the introduction of subjects from other areas is being analyzed.

At the same time, the Group of Schools has been «concerned with deepening the learning process of students at the Secondary School as well as promoting the continuation of their studies (both for CCH and for Professional Courses)».

In this sense, several partnerships were promoted with entities in the region to implement projects such as the Student Archeology Club (which includes field activities – participation in archaeological excavations, design and cataloging of pieces- and scientific dissemination) and the Programming and Robotics Club ( which recently was responsible for the delivery of more than 1200 visors to the Hospital and University Center of the Algarve).

In addition, the Secondary has the BikeMe project (which intends to streamline and boost the mobility aspect, contributing to the Group's students to acquire, from an early age, sustainable behaviors, promoting physical activity, health, environmental protection and mobility for gentle means), the Clube de Ciência Viva (intends to make students think, discuss, experiment, explore and apply science in a creative and innovative way, with the involvement of the entire educational community), the EcoEscola (focused on education environmental, for sustainability and for citizenship) the Tapete Mágico Theater Club (already with 24 years of existence and where the major issues of society are addressed)

Projects such as the Youth Parliament, Participatory Budgeting for Schools, the implementation of the Plan for the Promotion of Democratic Citizenship and the class and delegate assemblies or the transversality of Citizenship and Development also aim to “strengthen the important role of schools as spaces for democratic practice , where young people can acquire knowledge and experiences of citizenship (local, European and global) and experiment and propose alternatives of participation with which they feel more identified».

In 2019/2020, the Grouping of Schools began to integrate the National Plan for the Arts.

The importance of ERASMUS+ projects is also highlighted (at the moment we have 4 running and 5 new applications for the coming years).

As for events such as “Menina estás à Janela”, the “Iberian Student Kitchen Contest, Night City Run, Pinheiriadas and activities such as preparing meals for the homeless community of Faro "value learning and contribute to a cultural and social dynamization of the community".
