The Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School, in Faro, was terminated this morning after an employee was diagnosed with Covid-19. The remaining employees are already in quarantine, he told the Sul Informação Francisco Soares, director of the grouping.
According to the official, the result of the Covid-19 test was known «this morning» and «the screening of other employees is already being done, to try to understand the contacts that have been maintained in recent weeks. All were sent home».
Despite this positive case of Covid-19, classes will resume tomorrow, at another school, with another group of employees. «We will maintain our teaching activity, at Escola Neves Júnior, which is part of our group. We have this afternoon and tonight to prepare the school. The employees will be different, they had no contact with this group, something that was already foreseen in our contingency plan».
The objective is to “maintain as much normality in operation as possible, taking into account the circumstances”.
As for the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School, “it will be the target of a disinfection and sanitation action, carried out by a specialized team of Firefighters”.
The regional health authority, contacted by Sul Informação, said he is "monitoring the situation", namely "assessing the person's contacts in terms of family and friends, to determine the possible chain of contagion".
