On-site classes at Pinheiro e Rosa end after 2 more cases of Covid-19

"This is a preventive measure," acknowledged the group's director

On-site classes at Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School, in Faro, ended, after two more employees tested positive for Covid-19. 

Francisco Soares, director of the Pinheiro e Rosa Schools Group, told the Sul Informação that “this is a preventive measure” to “avoid contagion”.

Thus, the next week (the last of classes) will be just “distance classes” for the approximately 150 students in the 11th and 12th grades.

After there was a positive case Last Thursday, the 18th, the decision was taken to continue the in-person classes, but at the EB 2,3 Neves Júnior School, which belongs to the same group. As for Pinheiro e Rosa, it was disinfected last Friday.

Now, with these two more confirmed cases, “we are going to close everything”, explained Francisco Soares.

The two employees, who tested positive and whose results were known today, "are asymptomatic".

In total, according to the director of the Pinheiro e Rosa Schools Grouping, “about 40, 50” tests have been carried out on employees and teachers, 19 of which this Sunday.
