The magnitude 2.5 earthquake (Richter), whose epicenter was located about 6 km northeast of Monchique, at 16:24 pm this Sunday, was finally felt «with maximum intensity II/III (modified Mercalli scale) in the Monchique region». has just informed the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere.
IPMA adds that the earthquake "did not cause personal or material damage".
