Silves Municipal Markets reopen on the 5th

Merchants and customers will have to comply with an extensive set of rules

The Municipal Markets of the municipality of Silves will reopen on Tuesday, May 5th, «by complying with rules of social distancing and sanitation of spaces as indicated by the DGS», announced the Silvense Chamber.

The decision is taken "in the context of the gradual implementation of deconfinement through the phased lifting of restrictions and the consequent progressive reopening of the economy" and following the "on-site assessments of all municipal markets", which have been carried out by the local delegate of Public Health together with the Mayor and the Presidents of the Councils and Parish Unions of the municipality.

The same responsibles have already met "with all the traders who explore spaces in the markets, in order to agree and clarify the rules that will have to be observed in order to allow the resumption of the activity".

The rules include, from the outset, the mandatory use of masks for all who use the markets, but also the display of pertinent information "alluding to the rules of hygiene and social behavior to be adopted", by "access control depending on the ability to legally foreseen load, taking into account, in particular, the area and the architectural specificities of the space" and by the "definition of a perfectly perceptible circulation flow for the users of the space".

Health authorities and local elected representatives also required merchants to set up 'containment lines or, when possible, physical barriers to safeguard minimum distances, maintaining social distance and avoiding the tendency to touch products and reduce the chance of contamination by contact or by droplets, particularly relevant in fish stalls'.

The placement of alcohol-gel dispensers for hand disinfection at the main entrance and in different locations within the space and the implementation of a «space cleaning and sanitation plan, clearly identifying the frequency of the intervention and who carried it out ».

Traders must also "install two alcohol gel dispensers, one for their own use and the other for customers, use mandatory personal protective equipment, such as a mask and/or a visor, having also defined the hand hygiene protocol during this period sales and handling of products, as well as the exclusive entry for replenishment of products was established'.
