José Apolinário visited Vila do Bispo to learn about local responses to the pandemic

Measures and main concerns regarding the phase of gradual de-confinement were also discussed.

Secretary of State José Apolinário, within the scope of his duties as coordinator of the fight against Covid-19 in the Algarve region, met with the mayor of Vila do Bispo, Adelino Soares, last Friday, 1st of May, to discuss the measures implemented in the county during the period in which the state of emergency took place.

At this meeting, which took place in the town hall's main hall, an assessment was made of the work carried out at the local level and the measures adopted at regional and national level during the period of state of emergency that ended on 2 May were analyzed.

Measures and main concerns regarding the phase that started today, that of gradual de-confinement, were also discussed.

The meeting was also attended by Vítor Vaz Pinto, District Operational Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Bartolomeu, Armed Forces Liaison Officer, Armindo Vicente, in his dual role as provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo and president of the Secretariat of the Misericórdias of the District of Faro, José Pimentel, commander of the GNR Post in Vila do Bispo, doctor Luís Cadinha, Health delegate, as well as Émerson Gomes, Municipal Coordinator of Civil Protection.
