Silves sews personal protective suits for IPSS

The suits "will be sewn using their own fabric, reusable after washing at high temperature"

The Lifelong Education Hubs, a project by the Silves Council, will sew 150 individual protection suits to deliver to Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS) in the municipality. 

The suits “will be sewn using their own fabric, reusable after washing at high temperature”, says Câmara de Silves.

Collaborating with the IPSS in this period of pandemic, contributing so that their professionals can continue to perform their functions in a safer way – for the safety of themselves and users – is the main objective of this initiative promoted by the Municipality of Silves.

The Long Life Education Poles, an initiative will also collaborate with the Parish Council of São Bartolomeu de Messines, where there is already a case of Covid-19, in the manufacture of the same type of personal protective equipment.

The Lifelong Education Poles are an educational project of the Municipality of Silves, in operation since 2001. They are open to all people, regardless of age and gender, and are essentially based on continuing education and training outside the formal system. as spaces for updating and deepening intergenerational knowledge, where the different generations who attend them share knowledge.
