Quinta do Lago residents raise 350 euros to help hospital in Faro

Fundraising carried out in partnership with the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC)

A group of 300 residents of Quinta do Lago raised, in one week, more than 350 euros to help the hospital in Faro to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Quinta do Lago, the group, "sensitized by the current situation of rapid spread of the new coronavirus", decided to start a campaign to "help the health system and those infected, as well as all professionals working on the front line, by interrupting the progress of the virus and, consequently, saving lives».

The fundraiser, carried out in partnership with the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC), was aimed at the purchase of a second CT machine for the hospital in Faro and the preparation of a place with a capacity for 90 people to be in isolation, for a total of 100 euros.

However, "just a week after it started, more than 350 thousand euros were raised."

The excess amount raised will be used to purchase other equipment, such as ventilators, heart rate monitors, electrocardiogram machines, 'kits' for blood tests and also personal protection equipment, adds Quinta do Lago.
