The “Virtual Open Day” of the Hotel and Tourism School of Vila Real de Santo António, which took place on 23 April, confirmed “the best expectations”, announced the direction of the establishment.
It all started with the opening of the doors by the school director and a synthesis of the training offer that includes the courses of Restaurant/Bar Technician and Cooking and Pastry Technician – Double Certification and free of fees.
As for the training offer of Level 5 Technological Specialization courses, it is based on Management and Kitchen Production and on the new Nature and Adventure Tourism course, this one with a view to valuing the natural resources of the Sotavento, with special emphasis on the entire region of Baixo Guadiana, thus contributing to the promotion of a sustainable economy in the region.
The afternoon was animated by the item “Is online here to stay?”. It was a long-distance and interactive conversation, moderated by the school director Manuel Serra, with contributions from the specialist and trainer Manuel Manero and the student of the Kitchen Management and Production course, João Moreno.
In this virtual classroom, topics such as “Personal and Creative Development” were also addressed, emerging subjects in the Hotel and Tourism Schools, which address the development of communication and storytelling skills, entrepreneurship and intra-entrepreneurship.
The program of activities ended in a blaze with chef Hélder Pinto, who, in a very appealing setting, provided assistance with the production of several classic cocktails and a lesson in wisdom about the world of the bar.

The students' imagination and the ability to interact with their social contact networks was crucial for the positive impact that took place throughout the day. The original contents for the presentation of the school and its training offer received the best comments and pride took hold in the school community», explains the VRSA Hotel School.
