Portimão received 100 beds to install in the field hospital

According to the Portimão Chamber, this is "a happy coincidence, as today marks World Health Day"

100 beds arrived this Tuesday, April 7, at Portimão Arena, where a field hospital is expected to be installed.

According to the Municipality of Portimão, this is "a happy coincidence, as today marks the World Health Day".

The beds, 22 of which are articulated, were acquired by the Municipality of Portimão in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and «will significantly strengthen the response capacity of the local health authority, should this entity intend to activate a field hospital in addition to to the Hospital and University Center of the Algarve», explains the municipality.

Also at Portimão Arena, since Friday, April 3rd, a drive-thru (mobile tracking center) has been in operation, under the responsibility of the Aqualab Laboratory, in which a daily average of 30 to 40 tests is carried out.

Em Faro, the creation of a field hospital is also planned, in the Penha Municipal Sports Pavilion, such as the Sul Informação already reported.
