Maritime Police prevent foreign boat crew from disembarking in Alvor

The situation occurred "following several complaints received"

The Maritime Police of Portimão prevented the crew of a foreign boat from disembarking in Alvor, the National Maritime Authority (AMN) has just announced.

The situation occurred "following several complaints received", which led the Maritime Police to visit the site.

«The four crew members on board the vessel are of British nationality, having only the skipper (boat captain) residence permit in Portugal», explains AMN.

The vessel anchored on the Arade river, after authorization from the Port Authority, the Local Health Authority, the Foreigners and Borders Service and Docapesca.

Since they come from abroad, the crew are “awaiting authorization from the Local Health Authority” to dock at the shipyards in Portimão, where the boat is expected to carry out “maintenance work”.
