Cortelha Motocross canceled due to Covid-19

The month of May is usually synonymous with Motocross in Cortelha

The traditional Cortelha Motocross, which would be disputed on May 17, was canceled due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.

"Following all the recommendations of the competent authorities and with a strong sense of responsibility", the Association of Friends of Cortelha says that "has decided to cancel the competition of the National 50cc Championship and Central/South Regional Motocross".

As has been happening for many years, the month of May is synonymous with Motocross in Cortelha, and that is how it would be this year, as planned.

However, due to the State of Emergency declared by the President of the Republic and in compliance with the guidelines set out in the Contingency Plan of the Municipality of Loulé, the organization of the Algarve race had to cancel it.

The Algar Motocross Circuit would host the National Motocross Championship in the 50 cc class, and the Central/South Regional in the Women, MX1, MX2, Classic, 85 cc and 65 cc categories, organized by the Associação dos Amigos da Cortelha, in partnership with MX Ribatejo and the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation and with the support of the Municipality of Loulé, the Parish Council of Salir and Algar.
