Clothing and clogs with specific characteristics for protection, intended for 155 professionals, were handed over yesterday to the coordinators of the Health Units of Almancil/Boliqueime, Quarteira and Loulé, by the Municipality of Loulé.
The health professionals' protection material will be used in seven health units in four locations in the county.
In an investment that amounts to 16 thousand euros, this is another action by the Municipality developed under the Municipal Contingency Plan, to combat the spread of the new coronavirus in the community.
All the material acquired by the City Council «was distributed by technicians from the Municipal Civil Protection Service who, moreover, have played a key role in supporting the population and in implementing the measures taken by the Municipality in recent weeks».
"We remain attentive and do not let down our arms, at a time when, more than ever, our fellow citizens need the support of the local authority", stresses the mayor.
“We have been using all our logistical, financial and human resources efforts to try to stop this pandemic. With this initiative, we intend, from the outset, to support those who are in the first line, which are all health professionals, thus contributing to the reinforcement of their individual safety», adds Vítor Aleixo.
