Sul Informação provides a map of the distribution of cases in the Algarve

Lagos has three people infected with the new coronavirus, the General Directorate of Health revealed today. The first registered patients from Lacobrigens are joined by an 89-year-old elderly woman from São Brás and five agricultural workers from Tavira, who were now known to be infected with Covid-19.

O Covid-19 epidemic status bulletin from the Directorate-General of Health this Sunday it also reports two more deaths in the Algarve region, which our newspaper is trying to find out where they occurred.

Second revealed to Sul Informação the mayor of São Brás de Alportel, the elderly woman in question does not represent a risk of contagion in the county, as she was infected in the Orthopedics of the Hospital de Faro, "where she was hospitalized to be operated on one leg".

The woman had no contact with her family and “was infected when she was already in the hospital, not having received any visits”.

However, the Jornal de Notícias reported this Saturday that five companions of a man who felt bad and was diagnosed with the new coronavirus in Tavira have also been confirmed as being infected.

Still with regard to the bulletin, namely the demographic characterization of confirmed cases (by municipality), it is in Tavira that there is a greater increase in cases.

This county of Sotavento now has 11 cases recorded, five more than yesterday, Saturday.

Also Albufeira and Faro saw the number of infected increase – another patient in both cases, now having 40 and 37 people with Covid-19 in the county, respectively.

Yesterday, according to the Sul Informação found the first results of tests carried out on users and employees of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia home in Vila Real de Santo António they were all negative. But it was still necessary to know the results of another battery of tests carried out in the meantime.

Equally negative were the tests carried out by the family members of the home maintenance worker who was diagnosed with Covid-19, the IPSS told our newspaper.

There may be a discrepancy between the total number of cases and those that are, on the map, distributed by municipality, since the information disclosed by the DGS, presented by municipality, refers to the total number of clinical notifications in the SINAVE system, corresponding to 79% of confirmed cases'.
