The school will return to television on April 20th and there is already a timetable for the transmission of different content on RTP Memória, aimed at different age groups, from 1st to 9th grade.
The Ministry of Education released today the grid of the project “#EstudoEmCasa – The School on Television”, the new teleschool, created following the suspension of classroom classes in all schools in the country, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which if I found out yesterday which would be extended until the end of the school year, for students from 1st to 10th grade and pre-school.
The transmission of "thematic pedagogical content, taught by teachers, for primary school students" and with content organized for different academic years, is considered by the ministry as "an important tool to complement the work of teachers with their students".
“These thematic pedagogical contents cover subjects that are part of the essential learning from the 1st to the 9th year, grouped by: 1st and 2nd years; 3rd and 4th years; 5th and 6th years; 7th and 8th years; and 9th year, covering subjects from one or more subjects of the curriculum, which will complement the work of teachers with their students", according to the tutelage, who reinforced what the prime minister António Costa had already announced yesterday.
With the emission of #EstudoEmCasa, through the RTP Memória signal, «the majority of students are reached, given that the channel broadcasts on DTT, but also on cable and satellite television, being also available on the digital platforms of RTP and Directorate-General for Education (DGE), with all broadcasts and respective contents available».
RTP Memória is channel 7 of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), accessible to everyone. It can also be found among the channels of the different cable television operators, namely on MEO (Position 100), NOS (19), Vodafone (17) and Nowo (13).
Public television will also make the contents available on its website – «everyday broadcast on demand and individualized modules” – and an App will be made available with all the contents of #EstudoEmCasa”, added the Government.
At the same time, RTP 2 will broadcast content thinking about children in Pre-School Education (from 3 to 6 years old).
«The name #EstudoEmCasa comes from the challenge launched by the Ministry of Education to students, to mark Student Day (24 March), at a time when the entire educational community had to celebrate the date in a different way, due to the epidemiological situation that the country crosses. A situation, unpredictable and of emergency, that remains and that leads to the 3rd term of school to be maintained in a non-presential way, “explained the ministry.
