Covid-19: Algarve has 6 more cases, Alentejo 2 more

Data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health this Monday, April 27

The Algarve has 6 more cases of Covid-19, reaching a total of 328, while the Alentejo registers 189 infected (more 2). Across the country, there are 24.027 confirmed cases, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic, and 928 deaths, according to data from today, April 27, from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS), which has just been disclosed. Those recovered are already 1357.

Compared to yesterday's figures, the Algarve has six more cases, rising to 328. In Alentejo, there are also two more, rising to 189.

The number of deaths remains 12 in the Algarve. Alentejo registers only one death, which occurred several days ago.

Nationally, the total number of confirmed cases is now 24027, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic in our country. That's an increase of 163 cases since yesterday (up 0,7%), but it's also the smallest daily increase in cases since March 19.

The number of deaths rose to 928 (another 25 since yesterday, ie an additional 2,8%), but the number of recoveries also increased, to 1357 (another 28 patients recovered since yesterday). In other words, at the national level, there were three more recovered than deaths yesterday.

So far, since January 1st, there have been, across the country, 237571 suspected cases of Covid-19, of which 208453 have not been confirmed. According to data from the DGS, which report at 00:00 today, the 27th, there were still 30.703 people in contact for surveillance by the health authorities, as well as 5091 awaiting the results of the analyses.

 

Of the 995 patients who are admitted to hospitals across the country, 176 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Nationally, the North region continues to be the one that registers more confirmed cases and more deaths: 14496 (accumulated numbers) and 536 deaths. It is followed by Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (5556 cases, 179 deaths), Centro (3252 cases, 191 deaths), Algarve (328 cases, 12 deaths), Alentejo (189 cases, 1 death), Azores (120 cases, 9 deaths) ) and finally Madeira, with 86 cases and no deaths.

Regarding the Algarve, despite the DGS pointing to an increase of 6 cases since yesterday's data, in the distribution by municipality only Albufeira gains one more patient from Covid-19, from 68 to 69.

However, the DGS explains, in its bulletin, that "the information presented refers to the total number of clinical notifications in the SINAVE system, corresponding to 84% of confirmed cases". Furthermore, “when the confirmed cases are less than 3, for reasons of confidentiality, the data are not presented”.
