Covid-19: Algarve has 316 cases, Alentejo 176, there are 21.982 across the country

The Algarve now has 316 cases of Covid-19, while the Alentejo registers 176 infected. Across the country, there are 21.982 confirmed cases and 785 deaths, according to data from today, April 22, from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), which has just been released. Those recovered are already 1143.

Compared to yesterday's figures, in both Algarve and Alentejo there are three more cases. In the Algarve region, the number of infected rose from 313 to 316. In Alentejo, today, there are 176 cases, compared to 173 yesterday (plus 3). With regard to the number of deaths, the DGS bulletin already counts the first in Alentejo, that of a user of a nursing home in Beja, which took place on Monday, April 20th.

Nationally, there are now 785 deaths, 23 more than yesterday. The North is the region with the most deaths recorded (454), followed by the Center (175), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (138), Algarve (11), Azores (6) and Alentejo (1).

 

After yesterday the number of recovered people surpassed, for the first time, the number of deaths, today there is a great growth again, from 917 to 1143 recovered from Covid-19 (more 226).

As for the number of confirmed cases, it increased from 21.379 to 21.982 (more 603). By regions, this is the distribution of the number of infected: North (13150), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (5093), Center (3053), Algarve (316), Alentejo (176), Azores (109) and Madeira (85) .

The DGS also advances that there are 1146 people hospitalized (less 26), 207 of which are in intensive care (less five).

There are currently 3219 citizens awaiting laboratory results, while another 30.646 are in surveillance contact with the health authorities.

As of January 1, the total number of suspected cases was 210.302, but 185.101 of those have not been confirmed.
