The Algarve has 260 cases of Covid-19, while the Alentejo registers 94. Across the country, the number of infected is 13.956 and 409 deaths, according to today's data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS ), which has just been releaseddo.
Compared to yesterday's data from DGS, the Algarve has 9 more cases. Alentejo registers just one more. Nationally, the number rose from 13.141 to 13.956 (another 815 cases).
As for the number of deaths, the Algarve maintains 8. Nationally, the figures rose to 409 deaths. The North is the region with the most (224), followed by the Center (104), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (72), Algarve (8) and Azores (1).
The bulletin data shows an increase in the number of retrieved from 196 to 205 (nine more).
The regional distribution of the 13.956 cases is as follows: North (8102), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (3451), Center (1905), Algarve (260), Alentejo (94), Azores (91) and Madeira (53).
According to the DGS, there are 1173 inpatients, 241 of which are in intensive care (4 less than yesterday).
At this moment, 3801 people are awaiting laboratory results, while another 24708 are in surveillance contact with the health authorities.
As of January 1, there have been 115.158 suspected cases, but 97.401 of those have not been confirmed.
