The Algarve has 331 cases of Covid-19, just 1 more than in the last two days, while the Alentejo has 207 infected, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) today, April 30, which ends to be publicized.
Of these numbers, one thing that is at least bizarre stands out: Alentejo, from yesterday to today, has lost 7 cases. Yesterday, the DGS registered 214 confirmed cases of people infected with Covid-19 in Alentejo lands, but this Thursday it only points out…207. The DGS does not present, in its bulletin, reasons for this decrease.
Across the country, there are 25.045 confirmed cases, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic. There are over 540 cases reported, an increase that has already been explained by Graça Freitas, Director-General of Health, in the usual daily press conference: «Yesterday we were unable to account for some cases in time to give you the data. These data were included today».
There are also 1519 people already recovered (another 49 since yesterday).
As for deaths, the Algarve maintains the 13 that it had already registered, while the Alentejo continues with 1. Nationally, the number of deaths rises today, in accumulated numbers, to 986, thus being 13 more since yesterday.
Of the active cases, there are 968 people admitted to hospitals across the country (12 less), and 172 are in intensive care (more 3), thus inspiring more care.
There are currently 3794 citizens awaiting laboratory results, while another 29.467 are in surveillance contact with the health authorities.
As of January 1, the total number of suspected cases was 247.685, but 218.846 of those have not been confirmed.
