Albufeira, Loulé and Portimão are the Algarve's municipalities with new cases of Covid-19 reported in the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health this Tuesday, April 7, while Messines, confirmed yesterday, is not yet accounted for.
According to DGS, from yesterday to today, there are five new cases in the Algarve. Portimão has one more and Loulé and Albufeira two more.
In the case of Loulé, the DGS totals 41 confirmed cases, but this number may not reflect the reality experienced in this municipality due to the situation of the home of Boliqueime, where 21 cases of Covid-19 were registered, which makes a total of 48 infected people in this Municipality.
As revealed to our newspaper Vitor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, the 21 cases detected in a home in Boliqueime are gradually being included in this survey.
In Albufeira, to what the Sul Informação found that one of the new cases reported by the DGS refers to an employee of Lar de Boliqueime.
In total, this county now has a total of 46 confirmed cases, in addition to two deaths: one of a 77 year old, the first victim of Covid-19 in the Algarve, and the other of a Canadian tourist.
With regard to Portimão, there is another case, and there has already been a death in this municipality, of a woman, which occurred at the Hospital de Portimão.
DGS does not report any new cases in Silves, but as the Sul Informação already reported, there is at least one more. He is a resident of the parish of São Bartolomeu de Messines.
This case is expected to be counted only tomorrow in the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health.
