173 users of the homes of the Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo were tracked by the ABC

Until yesterday, 67,7% of the tests planned in homes had already been carried out

The Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) was this Friday in the elderly homes of Sagres and Budens, Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo, tracking the Covid-19 to 173 users and employees.

This was another stage of the Covid+70 screening project, which ABC, in collaboration with the Social Security Institute, is promoting in all institutions for the elderly in the Algarve.

Armindo Vicente, provider of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Vila do Bispo, told the Sul Informação that these were “routine tests, as there are no suspects” between the residents or staff of the two homes. The results must be known "on Sunday, at the latest on Monday".

The person in charge praised the way in which the material was collected for analysis: “It was all very fast, well organized and with a lot of cooperation. It is a young team, but very competent and with attention to the elderly».

Until yesterday, and according to the data that were revealed by the District Civil Protection Commission, 67,7% of the tests provided for in homes had already been carried out.

No case of Covid-19 infection has yet been detected among users or employees, in addition to the case of the Home of Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Boliqueime.

Today, April 25, the ABC teams will test the elderly and employees of the Home for the Elderly of the Associação Pró-Beneficência e Progresso de Alte (Loulé), the Lar José Filipe Fialho, of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lagos, and also the Rest Home of Faro.
