“Postpone the vacation, but not the heart. After all, there will always be Algarve»

"The video leaves a special message in reaction to the Covid-19 outbreak"

“Postpone the vacation, but not the heart. After all, there will always be Algarve». This is the great message of a new video, launched by the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), which calls on the Portuguese to stay at home and then come back «with even more nostalgia».

«Today I don't have you here, but I hear you by heart and I know that tomorrow I'm your kiss again. Remember me. Algarve» is another message from the campaign that has been active since this Sunday, March 29, on the social networks of the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA).

Through the signature “Remember me. Algarve”, «the video leaves a special message as a reaction to the Covid-19 outbreak, using archival footage over two minutes that try to recall the reasons why it is worth waiting to return to visit the region after the pandemic», explains the RTA.

The video – which will be the target of an investment in social media advertising, Youtube and displays in media channels – is a production by New Light Pictures, with voiceover by Algarve actor João de Brito, whom RTA thanks for the transfer of the your services free of charge.

«We wanted to tell the Portuguese at this very delicate moment that they stay at home and safely, postponing their holidays, as the Algarve and the Algarve will remain in the same place to welcome them with open arms when everything passes», explains João Fernandes, president of RTA .

In addition to this campaign, RTA has an ongoing initiative «Yesterday, as today, we are here to help» aimed at tourist companies in the Algarve, in particular SMEs, with the aim of clarifying the new support available to mitigate the economic consequences of the new coronaviruses in a region that depends on tourism.
