There are one million euros of European Union Funds to support internships in various municipalities in the Algarve, which "will allow almost 100 young people, most of whom are graduates, to experience working in different areas for 12 months", announced the Commission of Regional Coordination and Development (CCDR) of the Algarve.

«The internship areas differ from municipality to municipality, with emphasis on landscape architecture and architecture, civil protection, sociology, information technology, territorial planning, municipal management and management, environmental engineering and engineering, biology, social service, law, psychology and speech therapy, among others», according to the CCDR, which manages the CRESC Algarve 2020 Operational Program, which covers this support.

The recruitment of interns will be carried out by the local authorities, according to the rules of the Professional Internship Program in Local Administration (PEPAL), within which they take place.

This measure, "in addition to contributing to maximize national investment in education and vocational training, will allow the development of new projects" and will contribute "to the improvement and quality of services provided to citizens, economic agents and other partners".
