Águas do Algarve will pay around one hundred million euros for the operation and maintenance services of the Algarve Multi-municipal Sanitation System, for a period of seven years.

The Algarve water supply and sewage treatment company signed two contracts last week for the Nascente Zone – Lot 1 and the West Zone – Lot 2 of the Algarve's Multi-municipal Sanitation System.

In the case of the Nascente Zone, the service was contracted from the company Acciona Água and has a global value of close to 42 million euros. In the West Zone, the agreement, with an associated value of around 58 million, was signed with Be Water.

The contracts in question provide for «all the works necessary for the proper functioning and conservation of the infrastructures included in the Algarve's Multi-municipal Sanitation System», according to Águas do Algarve.

The award of these services is «of high value, not only for the company, but for the region and the environment as a whole», assures the company.
