Nature watchers from across the country gather in the Algarve

This meeting incorporates technical conferences dedicated to the theme "Tourism and Nature"

The XXIII National Meeting of Nature Watchers starts this Thursday, January 30th, in Vila do Bispo, and lasts until February 2nd.

This meeting incorporates some technical days dedicated to “Tourism and Nature”. These will be the themes on the table at the various panel discussions scheduled for this Friday, January 31st.

The opening session is scheduled for 9:30 am, at the Municipal Auditorium of Vila do Bispo, with the presence of Francisco Correia, president of the Portuguese Association of Nature Guards and Vigilantes, Joaquim Castelão Rodrigues, regional director of Nature Conservation and Forests of Algarve, Adelino Soares, Mayor of Vila do Bispo, José Gonçalves, Mayor of Aljezur, and Hugo Pereira, Mayor of Lagos.

These are joined by Nuno Banza, president of the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF), and João Catarina, Secretary of State for Nature Conservation, Forests and Spatial Planning.

On Saturday, in turn, there will be a tour of the Rota Vicentina and a trip to the Museum of the Sea (Carrapateira, Aljezur).

This meeting ends on Sunday, February 2, with the commemorations of the National Day of the Vigilante of Nature, at the Vila do Bispo Auditorium.

The event is sponsored by the municipalities that make up Terras do Infante – Association of Municipalities (Aljezur, Vila do Bispo and Lagos).
