The V Trail Cachopo Solidário will take place in the mountain parish of Tavira, on 15 March, organized by the 4th Company of the GNR Intervention Group for Protection and Relief (GIPS), in partnership with the Cachopo Parish Council.
This event is intended to "support a GIPS military who suffered serious injuries resulting from a road accident," stress the organizers.
This is the fifth consecutive edition of Cachopo Solidário Trail it will take place on urban stretches and signposted trails, featuring uneven floors, roads and natural obstacles and watercourses, in «land surrounding the village of Cachopo, mostly by hills and valleys, with magnificent natural beauty».
The race consists of 10 kilometers of walking, 15 kilometers of short trail, team trail and 30 kilometers of long trail.

The mission of GNR's GIPS is to carry out first-rate prevention and intervention actions throughout the national territory, in emergency situations of protection and assistance, namely in the event of forest fires, hazardous materials, catastrophes or serious accidents.
