Families from Olhão wishing to receive monthly support from the Municipality of Olhão to rent a house can apply for the 3rd phase of the Support Program for Housing Lease in the Municipality of Olhão between the 3rd and 28th of February.
Interested parties can submit applications directly at Balcão Único or by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt. The regulation can be consulted here.
This measure is aimed at «the citizens and their respective households residing in the municipality of Olhão who have rented or intend to rent a house».
The idea is to respond to families that, "despite not experiencing a situation of extreme economic and housing shortages, continue to face difficulties with regard to the housing budget."
In this way, this is a complementary measure to the 700 social housing units under the responsibility of the municipality.
The monthly subsidy in question is awarded for a period of one year and can be "renewed for equal periods up to a maximum of 3 years", according to the City Council of Olhão.
In the 1st application phase, which ran from 2 May to 1 June 2018, 27 applications were supported. In the 2nd phase, which ran from February 1st to March 1st, 2019, 18 applications were supported.
