The 130th anniversary of the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Vila Real de Santo António will be celebrated until next Saturday with several initiatives.
The commemorations will spread over several days, since, as illustrated by the VRSA firefighters, «so many years of history deserve extended commemorations», and they already had a first moment yesterday, Saturday.
Today, Sunday, the “Functional Parade” is taking place, a non-competitive event “consisting of an internal course with a series of obstacles to be overcome individually or in a team”.
The 15th of January is the day of the official anniversary celebration and starts with the 8:00 am hoist.
«One of the most solemn moments is scheduled for 11:30 am, a heartfelt tribute to all the deceased firefighters. The launch of the CTT stamp alluding to the Association's 130th anniversary is another of the great moments of the day, scheduled for 15 pm, an initiative that highlights the importance of the VRSA Firefighters in the history of this territory and the community. Finally, at 00:18, there is a motorized parade. This is also an open day for visits to the Barracks, from 00:9 am”, according to the association.
On January 18, at 10:00 am, a simulation will take place in Jardim da Av. da República, in front of the captaincy of the port of VRSA. The celebrations of the 130th anniversary of the Humanitarian Association of Firefighters of VRSA close on this day with a solemn session, at 15 pm.
