The Firefighters of Faro celebrate this Saturday, December 7th, their 137th anniversary, with a program that includes the inauguration of two new vehicles.
The celebrations begin at 9:00 am, with the flying of flags at the unit's barracks.
At 9:30 am, those who have already left will be remembered, with a pilgrimage to the cemetery to pay homage to the deceased firefighters.
The program continues with a parade through the city streets, at 10:30 am, towards the barracks, where, at 11:00 am, the entities will be received by Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Chamber of Faro, and José Tomás Valente, commander of the corporation.
The official session of the 137th anniversary will then start at 11:30 am, with the inauguration of two vehicles (one for command and communications and the other for firefighting) that reinforce the car park of the Sapadores Fire Department.
There will then be official interventions, ending the ceremony with the inauguration of the nativity scene prepared by elements of the Farense corporation and a convivial lunch.
