Raquel Jacob elected president of the Academic Association of UAlg

João Sá de Carvalho was defeated

Raquel Jacob was elected president of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUAlg) in the elections that took place this Tuesday, December 3rd. 

List N, headed by Raquel Jacob, obtained 1009 votes. The A list, which was led by João Sá de Carvalho, the other candidate for the AAUAlg, had 894 votes.

Raquel Jacob, who will take office on January 7, will succeed Pedro Ornelas as president of the Academic Association.

When she announced her candidacy, Raquel Jacob said that some of her goals are to “increasingly adjust the vast activity of the Academic Association to the interests of students”, through “proximity and redoubled availability to the Student Nucleus and Sections Self-employed members of the AAUAlg».

«Bearing in mind the effort and work carried out over the last few years, the financial sustainability of AAUAlg is also the mainstay of this candidacy. We believe that the more stable the Association is, the greater will be its ability to represent students – and thus improve the standard of living of each one of us», he also referred.
