Francisco Martins, former mayor of Lagoa, was appointed deputy of the Algarve Jamila Madeira, Deputy Secretary of State for Health. The order has just been published, this Monday, December 16, in Diário da República.
Francisco Martins is a nurse by profession, having completed the course at the Nursing School of Faro, in December 1990.
From October 2013 until July 2019, he was the mayor of Lagoa. the former mayor resigned, when he had even been elected for a second term, citing health problems.
The departure of Francisco Martins motivated the rise of Luís Encarnação as president.
