Frontal shock causes one dead and three wounded in Penina

A 54-year-old man died today, in the late afternoon, following a head-on collision between a car and a van, on the former EN125, in the Penina area, in the municipality of Portimão. The accident also caused three injuries.

Source of the District Relief Operations Command told the Sul Informação that the wounded, a 45-year-old woman and two 15 and 19-year-olds, were transported to Hospital de Portimão.

According to the same source, the death of the man, Portuguese, was declared on the spot by the INEM doctor.

The rescue operations involved 19 operational personnel and nine vehicles from the Fire Department of Portimão, INEM and GNR.

The accident forced traffic restrictions at this location, on the old section of the EN125, in front of the Church of Santo André, in Penina.
