Trail on a cliff in Lagoa banned after landslide

Signaling will soon be reinforced with metal barriers

The National Maritime Authority (AMN) signaled and banned a trail on the cliff in Vale Currais, near Paraíso beach, in Lagoa, after a landslide that occurred during the early morning hours of the 15th.

In addition to the members of AMN, «technicians from the Portuguese Environment Agency/ ARH do Algarve were on the spot, to support the work and assess the safety conditions».

The Civil Protection of Lagoa was also asked to “place metal barriers to reinforce the temporary signage and the safety of people using the trail”.

«The Captaincy of the Port of Portimão warns that landslides are frequent and unpredictable throughout the year, also appealing to all people who frequent the beaches and areas along the coast, to respect the existing signs and to stay away from the slopes of the coast. cliffs, as well as their base», concludes AMN.
