The mayor of Lagoa was in the homonymous municipality of the Azores to speak during the nationwide seminar “Smart Cities”, which took place on the 15th and 16th of November.
Luís Encarnação was one of the guest speakers at this initiative organized by the Câmara de Lagoa dos Açores, which focused on «the challenges of mobility and connectivity, and particularly those of smart tourism».
The presentation of the mayor of Lagoon focused on the Smartcity project: Lagoa, namely in the «creation of a technological structure that covers the entire territory of the county and that is coordinated from an operations center», described the Câmara de Lagoa Algarve.
"East center, located in the Municipal Park of Fairs and Exhibitions of Lagoa, assumes connectivity with all communication protocols, allows the development of applications tailored to the needs of the services and the integration of sensors and GIS services – Geographic Information System. It also manages all the information collected and serves as a preferential channel between the citizen and the services», described the municipality.
This meeting was attended by «larger and smaller Portuguese municipalities, located inland and close to the sea, various industries, namely those linked to tourism or the automobile».
