Portimão hosts Congress of the Race Prof. Mario Moniz Pereira

The Professor Mário Moniz Pereira Race Congress takes place this Sunday, December 1st, in the auditorium of the Museum of Portimão, within the scope of the European City of Sport.

The congress program includes several thematic areas of knowledge related to the sport, from the intergenerational aspect to health, through training and performance, with the participation of various specialists, in order to expand synergies and highlight the articulated and integrated vision in the panorama of running and national sport.

On the occasion, the Algarvian athlete Ana Cabecinha and her coach, Paulo Murta will be honored. fairs, from 75:15 pm.

Professionals in this sporting area can enroll for free, receiving 0,6 credits for being an accredited training, while enrollment for the general public costs 10 euros, in both cases to be made here

Completing a decade of existence, the National March and Running Program developed by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth and the Portuguese Athletics Federation has always had in the area of ​​training one of the main pillars of intervention in the communities where March and Running Centers are implemented. , both with practitioners and athletics coaches and coaches, in order to increasingly qualify both the practice and the technical intervention of those responsible.

In 2018, the name of Professor Mário Moniz Pereira was associated with the Congress, in order to recall and highlight the importance in the history of the sport of the renowned coach of Sporting, reflected in the development of the race and the international results obtained in this area, intertwining it with the current story.

Running has been occupying a very significant place in the sporting practices of the Portuguese in its various aspects and, through its practice, conditions have been created to promote the increase of physical activity in Portugal in order to achieve the goals and goals proposed by the various plans and programs to promote physical activity.
