The Chamber of Faro it will partially cover the stands at the Athletics Track and the Penha Football Field and make other improvements to these two sports infrastructures.
The interventions, whose contract was signed on Monday, will cost around 78 euros and should be completed within three months.
«The most significant aspect of the project is the partial coverage of the stands of the Municipal Football Field of Penha and the Athletics Track, aiming to provide comfort to thousands of residents and visitors who attend the trainings and various competitions in those there take place, especially during the climatic rigors of summer and winter', according to the Chamber of Faro.
The works also include «the requalification of the sports pavement of the Athletics Track, with the repainting of the demarcation lines of the track, jumping corridors and launching areas and the partial “retopping” of the synthetic pavement”.
The Athletics Track changing rooms will also be reclassified, «with waterproofing and floor seating in the bathing area and in the corridors of the outdoor bench, as well as the painting of all the exterior walls and ceilings».
