Works at Arrifana Fishing Port are already advancing

Work will advance and national funding will be guaranteed by the Aljezur Chamber

The rehabilitation works of the Arrifana Fishing Port are already advancing, to bring «more and better conditions» of safety and work to the fishing community of this village in the municipality of Aljezur.

The intervention, which will cost 580 thousand euros, includes, among other works, «repairs to the shelter jetty, reconstruction of the marginal retention and paving of the embankment, repair of the pavement of the southwest pier, reconstruction and repair of the old waterfront ramp, construction of the stairs on the north wharf and maintenance of the bottom of the Porto basin», according to the City Council of Aljezur.

This is a «work of extreme importance for the fishing community of Arrifana and has long been desired by the Association of Fishermen of Portinho de Arrifana and the local authority».

The contract will be carried out by Sociedade Polis Litoral do Sudoeste Alentejano, with the funds to be guaranteed by the City Council of Aljezur, which will invest 154 thousand euros, corresponding to 25% of the total value of the work, and by the Funds of the European Union of the Sea 2020.
