Castro Marim is becoming + clean thanks to a group of citizens who created a movement that invites the population to promote or join cleanup walks.
The movement “Castro Marim + Limpo” was born “spontaneously and informally” from the will of civil society, according to the Chamber of Castro Marim.
Those who adhere to the initiative can either join initiatives promoted by other citizens, or be the promoters themselves, “just launching the challenge with a day, time and place”.

The Castro-Marina local authority, which welcomes «this exemplary initiative and this dynamic group», provides «the necessary means for the collection of waste, as well as the collection of it, if necessary».
For Filomena Sintra, vice president of the municipality, these types of actions are important to «raise awareness in the community and visitors of their responsibility towards the environment and public space».
