UAlg students will volunteer in São Tomé and Príncipe

We can all help this volunteer mission

10 students from the degree course in Social Education at the University of Algarve (UAlg) will leave for an international volunteering mission, from 23 to 31 January next year, in São Tomé and Príncipe.

In this mission, young people will carry out educational activities with children, young people and their families, along with the DIMIX mission.

Cláudia Luísa, director of the course, considers that, «in addition to theoretical and practical knowledge, the initial training of any student should also involve providing new experiences and knowledge outside the school context, which are extremely important for their personal and professional training, where volunteering stands out».

In this sense, explains the teacher, «after a challenge posed by a colleague, Sandra Monteiro, graduated in Social Education and founder of the Agency for Educational Experiences Abroad – One day we will go together, we decided to provide an unforgettable volunteer experience to those who will go on a mission and to those who will welcome us at Roça Água Izé».

Since this is a mission with several associated costs, all contributions will be an asset.

Thus, all those interested in helping to fund this mission can do so through monetary support, simply using the data from the Account that the students opened for the mission, on behalf of Inês Balula Palminha (3rd year student of the Course of Social Education).

The data are: 0036 031399100030425 89 (NIB), PT 50 0036 031399100030425 89 (IBAN) and MPIOPTPL Caixa Económica Montepio Geral, Caixa Económica Bancária, SA (BIC).

Donation slips should be sent to: [email protected]

According to the teacher, "all ideas and help will be welcome, from monetary donations, ideas to raise funds, donations of clothing, shoes, school supplies, among others."
